ATF Form 4473
Use ATF’s official Form 4473 page for the form and revision instructions. Check the current edition with the dealer. FFLVerified does not collect completed transaction forms, identification images or background-check answers.
ATF — Form 4473 information and current downloads ↗Identification and residency
Ask the dealer what documents your situation requires, especially after a move or if your identification shows an old address. Do not assume a mailing address establishes residency.
ATF — Licensee quick reference guide ↗State forms and permits
Federal paperwork is only one layer. Use the state guide’s official references to check for additional forms, permits or certificates. The state research indexes are not yet a completed legal checklist.
Background-check outcomes
NICS is the federal background-check system. The FBI explains that a delayed response means additional research is needed; it is not the same as a denial. Follow the dealer’s instructions and the official FBI or state-agency process. This guide does not promise a release date.
